This Engineering Assistant will report to the Civil Asset Strategy Manager and will work within the Asset Management directorate based in our Crawley office. You will be a Fixed Term Contract (15 months) employee.
You will attract a salary of £37,165.00 and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Job Purpose
The Asset Management Directorate's primary role is to help ensure UK Power Networks is equipped to solve the regulatory challenges of RIIO ED2 and beyond. Our ambition is to be regarded as the industry leader, and we are looking for talent with the vision and energy to lead the change.
Background
You will work as part of a diverse team, delivering asset and network plans for all civil and building works and understanding and reporting on important environmental and risk issues that will support our vision to achieve the best performance.
The Asset Management function develops investment plans and programmes to improve the performance and maintain the condition of a regulated asset base of £4 billion with an MEAV of £28 billion serving 8 million customers through a network of 137,000 km of underground cable, 90,000 km of overhead lines and 82,000 substations.
The Asset Strategy team develops, implements, and oversees the delivery of asset life cycle strategies and plans that deliver the best performance in asset management. This includes developing a suite of leading asset modelling capabilities, ensuring network assets comply with relevant legislation and development of the annual, medium, and long-term asset replacement and defect management programmes that ensure target asset health indices are achieved.
The team assesses the condition of all civil and building assets and puts in place investment programmes to ensure asset health is maintained with regulatory targets, identifying refurbishment, replacement and maintenance interventions that allow cost outperformance in achieving asset health targets.
You will need to build relationships with teams across UK Power Networks and its contractors. The role therefore requires the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
Principal Accountabilities
* You will assist with analysis and monitoring of civils data, including continuous development of systems, processing and reporting capabilities.
* Raise and process work orders and projects using SAP.
* Collate monthly and ad-hoc reporting packs and Power BI dashboards, requiring liaison with multiple partners.
* Help create and develop asset refurbishment, replacement, inspection and maintenance programmes.
* Update the Asset Strategy Intranet page.
* Provide real-time asset management response and technical support.
* Support the collation and production of regulatory reporting tables.
Qualifications
* You will understand assets owned and operated by UK Power Networks.
* Experience of engineering preferred, supported with a qualification in related subjects.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Experience using SAP and Power BI is desirable.
