We manage and maintain more than £100 million worth of innovative, best in-class plant, transport and specialist equipment and our work spans multiple sectors. The Procurement Manager is responsible for the delivery of the procurement function for Murphy Plant Limited providing support to the UK and Ireland Plant Business A day in the life of a Murphy Pany Procurement Manager Aiding Head of Procurement and advising on purchasing policy, strategy and planning Managing purchasing staff, training and supervising their work Continual assessment and monitoring staff performance Managing suppliers, relationships, monitoring trade agreements Monitoring and managing quality and QA systems adherence Liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality Capex purchasing prioritisation and management Negotiating and administration of Re-Hire contracts and monitoring their progress Ensuring contractual adherence Building in future supplier accreditation requirements in line with Business Unit Requirements Administration and producing reports and statistics as necessary Payment terms negotiation and account management Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers; Developing market knowledge and contacts for new products and services; identifying potential suppliers Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors Visiting sites and suppliers ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives Monitor the supply chain performance, workload and financial status to protect the corporate position.
