Job description
We are looking to recruit a temporary full-time bookkeeper for small non-profit accountancy practice based in Gateshead but working across the whole of the UK.
If you are an AAT qualified or qualified by experience and you want to feel valued, an integral part of a team and enjoy working with all aspects of bookkeeping and Payroll then we would like to hear from you.
The Position is currently temporary with the potential of becoming a long-term contract
Job Profile / Responsibilities
- Managing a select portfolio of clients (charities, community interest companies, companies limited by guarantee, a small number of sole traders, partnerships and Ltd companies)
- Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software
- Proficient in using Xero, QuickBooks, Free Agent and Microsoft Office suite
- Understanding project accounting and restricted and unrestricted funding
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Preparation of Payroll, HMRC and Pension submissions
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Preparation of working papers
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within practice. Preferably within charity and community interest companies/companies limited by guarantee although not essential.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software particularly Xero, Quick Books and Free Agent.
- A can-do attitude to work with the ability to be flexible in your approach
- The ability to communicate effectively and build good working relationships
- Dealing with client queries via Zoom, Teams, telephone and email.
