The Role As a Commercial Manager within Edina, you will be responsible for the provision of commercial support primarily to the sales team with a secondary responsibility to the projects and maintenance teams, while ensuring Company objectives are achieved. You will also liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including but not limited to the agreement of variations, claims, additional payments, or dispute resolutions. You will assist the Associate Commercial Director, the Sales Team and the Maintenance Team in the negotiation of the terms and conditions of all Edina Projects and associated Maintenance Agreements, and you will be responsible for the commercial risk evaluation of each contract. The successful applicant will work as an integral part of the Commercial team in a high-pressure environment with up to 40 new projects per annum and over 250 live maintenance agreements, delivering professional, high quality and timely contracts solutions and services. Providing comprehensive cover and support and work alongside the Associate Commercial Director and Commercial Committee and on an ad-hoc basis to other members of the Contracts team on commercial and administrative matters or issues that arise. You will report directly to the CEO, with day to day reporting line to the Associate Committee Director. About You To be considered as a Commercial Manager, you must have: - A minimum qualification in a Foundation degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in one of the following areas of expertise: - Civil or structural engineering, construction management, business or contract management, building studies or quantity surveying. - A minimum of 3 years or more experience in construction contract management with an understanding of the construction industry and understanding of legal documentation, including experience working with NEC, MF1, Fidic, IChemE and JCT type contracts. - A Sales Focused, can do mindset. - Effective IT skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office Packages. - Excellent business management skills with strong leadership skills. - Experience in preparing, or assisting in the preparation of commercial bids during the tendering process for new and existing Customers to help bring in new business. - Experience in discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business contracts. - Experience in resolving contractual issues and/or presenting the issues clearly to senior management personnel to assist them in dealing with such issues. - A full valid UK driving licence. This is a full-time role, working Monday - Thursday 8.30 am - 17.00 pm and Friday 8.30 am - 16.00 pm. The closing date for applications is Friday 7th March 2025.
