We believe wholeheartedly that every young person deserves a future full of opportunity and fulfilment. We believe that our approach to teaching and learning delivers life-chances and helps realise potential. But none of this happens without supreme organisation and multi-tasking holding the operation together – which is where we’d like you to feature.
If you sit comfortably and reliably at the centre of everything, exuding an air of calmness and serenity whilst everyone else is flapping and chasing their tails then we need your unique skills to help us deliver our ambition. Your team management and motivational skills will be well utilised alongside a myriad of administration, systems, secretarial and problem-solving abilities that will be deployed daily in a role that is as varied as it is essential.
But first, why Oasis Academy Hobmoor? As well as being part of the wider Oasis Community Learning Academy Trust of 53 schools across England, OA Hobmoor is recognised for its diversity, inclusion, leadership and pupil achievements. An Ofsted recognised ‘Good’ Academy we deliver great results for our pupils and continually strive to improve. You will be part of a collaborative, ambitious and friendly team of professionals.
As a trust we are proud of our values, purpose and ethos that runs throughout everything we do and reward our employees with:
1. a benefits programme that reflects YOUR lifestyle and needs
2. a generous Local Government Pension
3. exceptional personal development opportunities both within our Hobmoor Academy school and throughout the Trust
4. we invest in our people to ensure they are properly trained and informed in their area of expertise and have every opportunity to progress further. There is no barrier and no blocker to progression if you seek it
What is the job?
Operational Management in a school setting involves many facets (detailed in the attached Job Description) but overall, you will oversee the operational running of the Academy acting as Line Manager of the Academy’s Administration Team. It’s quite some responsibility.
You’ll be responsible for Administration management, be the H&S champion (and all that entails), be the POC for IT service and Property and Estates provision into the Academy, act as the Academy’s Data Protection Lead and provide secretarial support to the Principal.
Human Resources will come to you as the first port of call for information regarding HR matters, including pay, and performance management support.
What are we looking for?
The above requires a rather special person with the following attributes:
1. a confident communicator at all levels from parents, staff, students and members of the public – able to adapt and flex your style and approach depending on the situation
2. computer savvy, calm, discrete and with well-developed secretarial and organisational skills able to cope with anything that comes your way
3. someone who can develop positive working relationships with others
4. the ability to be ‘solutions focused’, have a positive mental attitude towards work and life!
5. and you’ll be experienced at managing teams with an innate ability to motivate, support and coach in equal measure
