What will you be doing?
We are looking for a Project Manager to execute design and build projects at Malin Equipment. The successful applicant will oversee project delivery of various in-house designed equipment and fabrication projects from our manufacturing facility in Renfrew and on site at client facilities / vessels. You will be working on projects in a range of sectors including Defence, Ferry, marine and innovative specialist projects such as Smart green shipping's FastRig Wingsail that will reduce the environmental impact of commercial vessels.
You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the project from initiation to completion. As Project Manager, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables, ensuring they align with the project objectives. You will work to successfully deliver projects to time and budget, whilst reporting to both the internal management team and client.
In addition to running projects, you will support bid writing and estimating including managing ongoing tenders.

What we're looking for?
We are looking for someone who displays strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills. You should have the ability to look at problems or situations from a fresh perspective and come up with innovative or unconventional solutions whilst navigating project challenges and achieving the desired outcomes within specified time constraints.
Skills that will help you in the role:
* Organised - the role requires good organisational skills to ensure the work is carried out on time.
* Diligent - delivery of projects is reliant on staff being responsible and ensuring their tasks are carried out properly and on time.
* Good communicator - project success is based on maintaining good lines of communication between clients, sub-contractors, project staff, and management.
* Engineering Understanding - An engineering qualification or prior experience in delivering engineering-focused projects is preferred but not essential.
* Competency in Microsoft Office - project work includes the extensive use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
* Numeracy - dealing with invoices, quotes, and expenses requires a good standard of numeracy.
* Clean Driver's License - required for attending meetings and site work.

Malin Equipment (part of Malin Group) is a delivery-focused organisation of existing in-house equipment designs as well as designing and delivering equipment to customer-specific requirements with a small and dynamic team. Malin Equipment delivers a mix of projects in the marine and defence sectors with past projects including refitting works on passenger ferries, vessel design work for the defence sector, and delivery of an innovative wing propulsion sail.

Where will you be working?
Malin Equipment is newly based at G2 Shed which is located at Westway Industrial Park in Renfrewshire. Unit G2 is one of the largest fabrication facilities on the west coast of Scotland and boasts both 500 and 150 Tonne gantry cranes.
There will be the occasional requirement to work from remote client sites for a few weeks while delivering projects for installation.
