We’re currently recruiting for a full time Site Operative to join our team at our Recycling Centre in Clacton. This role will be based at Clacton Recycling Centre and will require travel throughout the local area, you could work at different locations throughout the area including the following Recycling Centres:
1. Kirby
2. Lawford
3. Dovercourt
Due to the different areas where you may work, the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area.
What will you be doing?
As a Recycling Centre Site Operative, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
4. Assisting the public with any questions, queries, or complaints.
5. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and risk-free site.
6. Assisting in providing clear instructions to subcontractors / hauliers.
7. Operating plant machinery and overseeing waste movements.
8. Ensuring proper storage of materials for optimal recycling.
9. Ensuring compliance with safety standards.
10. Contributing to safe and efficient site operations.
11. Supporting the team with administrative tasks as and when required.
12. To assist with operations, on occasions you may be required to work at an alternative Recycling Centre.

The Experience You Will Bring
Essential:
21. Able to work on foot for lengthy periods of time.
22. Ability to work without supervision as well as part of a team.
23. Experience within a customer facing position.
24. Able to complete manual handling tasks.
25. Able to complete basic reading and writing tasks.
26. A willingness to learn new systems.
27. Willing to complete training necessary to fulfil the role,. First Aid, Plant Operator, Fire Marshall
Desirable:
28. Full Driving License
29. Computer literate (especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook) with good administration skills.
30. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety accreditation.
31. NPORS or similar Plant Operators Licence/Qualification on Material Handler, with previous experience operating plant machinery preferably within the waste industry.
Please note that the job role required you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirement of the role through other means.
