Applications for pharmacy technicians seeking full-time, part-time or flexible working hours are welcome for this medicines management and accredited checking pharmacy technician role. We are looking for a flexible and motivated medicines management and accredited checking pharmacy technician to join our 11am-7pm team.
If you are a pharmacy technician, you will take an active role in driving change both on the wards or in our dispensary in order to improve our turnaround times we would like to hear from you.
Key tasks will include reconciling patients medication history, assessing patients own drugs, transcribing medicines, patient counselling, dispensing and final accuracy checking.
As part of the role you will supervise the dispensary team from 5-7pm, manage the workflow to ensure efficient processing of prescriptions and ensure that the dispensary is tidy after the working day, that all medicines are delivered/collected and the department is secured.
• To undertake dispensary technical duties including labelling and dispensing of medicines, final accuracy checking and all required record-keeping.
• To participate in ward-based medicines management activities including medicines reconciliation, assessment of patients’ own drugs and transcribing of medication for dispensing.
• You will supervise other dispensary staff and manage the workflow to ensure efficient processing of prescriptions to meet the Trust targets.
