The role Our People function has three core goals – hire only the best talent, retain and develop our people, and make Fasanara the best place to work possible. As a People Manager, (outside of recruitment) it will be your responsibility to help us succeed in these goals. Your day to day will be varied as we are a small team, working directly with the Head of People you will get full access across the entire business and be involved in all and anything ‘People’ related, being fully autonomous and taking full ownership of your work. You will be looked upon as a font of knowledge and utilised to best understand how to approach problems as they arise, assisting in creating solutions that work within the restraints of employment law but always being ‘People first’. Responsibilities Formulate and deliver effective and impactful People practices and initiatives, surpassing expectations and in line with employment laws Effectively manage complex ER cases to resolution Ensure that internal processes support Fasanara’s business goals and strategy Support team members through transitional periods Onboard our newest hires effectively, setting them up to be as successful as possible Being an advocate for our culture, creating an engaging environment and applying emotional intelligence to champion various perspectives, mindsets and values of a diverse team Work closely with our leaders to develop themselves to be best managers possible Build creative programs to build Fasanara into a nurturing workplace that develops its talent through our Progression Framework Collects relevant and useful data and uses this to make recommendations for improvements Manages our background checking and visa sponsorship processes Looks after our low touch, monthly payroll process What excites us in a candidate You have countless examples through your experience of improving a workplace across the entire employee lifecycle You are knowledgeable of the nuances of UK employment law and can advise how best to navigate it when necessary You always put the people first and do what is right, not what is written You don’t get lost behind processes for processes sake, you understand a policy is there for consistency but that rules are made to be broken when common sense prevails You have lots of experience writing policies from scratch and improving those that already exist, always maintaining clear and concise written communication You utilise data, thought and insight to solve problems or develop new ideas and initiatives You are able to manage your time effectively to create plans and priorities in line with the changing businesses needs You look for ways we can continuously improve our employee experience You are always on top of changes in employment law, People trends and emerging software in the People space You build strong relationships with everyone, regardless of seniority across the business You are able to act empathetically and take control of difficult ER cases You constructively challenge opposing viewpoints to encourage balanced and well thought out processes If you feel you don’t necessarily have all of the experiences that we’re looking for, but still believe you could be excellent at this role, we’d still be keen to hear from you.
