Head of Sales, Car Van & Minibus World Ltd
Location: CVM World, Tunstall Road Industrial Estate, Knypersley, Stoke on Trent. ST87BD
Salary: £60K OTE, Uncapped
This has the potential to be a senior board level position within 12 to 18 months for the right candidate who is interested and can over time, prove themselves capable of growing sales.
CVM World is a rapidly growing family-run 2nd stage motor-vehicle manufacturer converting vans and selling high quality used vehicles. We are a manufacturer of Peugeot and Ford approved van conversions and our customers include the Construction, Education, Care, Charity and Voluntary sectors.
We specialise in converting panel vans into a range of products and we build on new and high-quality used vehicles from all manufacturers. It is an exciting time to join the company as we have recently expanded into the rapidly growing welfare van market and the short-term rental sector, to complement our sales and leasing activity. In addition to this, we have launched our own customised version of the Ford Ranger.
We require an experienced Head of Sales to lead and develop our sales team and assist us in achieving our strategic goals. Experience in the motor trade is not required as the successful candidate will be given full product-specific training. As well as a successful background in B-2-B sales, importance will be allocated to the general skills and qualities outlined below.
Key responsibilities:
1. Sales/Business development:
2. Recruiting, training and coaching sales team members on consultative selling, setting sales targets, monitoring performance and effectively dealing with under-performance.
3. Create plans to increase sales, identify new markets and analyse trends and data.
4. Manage & report on the established sales pipeline process within the business, with particular attention to fleet customers in all sectors.
5. Understand the company environment and business landscape and set relevant targets and objectives for the team.
6. Identify, develop and build relationships with prospective clients, stakeholders and other companies, ensuring that all sales opportunities for CVM World are acted upon.
7. Regularly assess competitor products and pricing and make changes to the sales programme in response.
8. Make proposals to the MD regarding stock requirements, and liaise with purchasing to source required stock.
9. Research the latest developments and products in the industry to ensure our range of services continues to offer good value for clients and to make suggestions to the MD when any new opportunities for service enhancement are identified.
10. Maintain a clear and accurate record of sales leads and use it to develop and refine our sales strategies.
11. Identify and attend relevant networking events and follow up all leads gathered.
12. Liaise with our marketing department to ensure our entire portfolio is brought to the market appropriately and that leads are converted.
Line Management Responsibility: You will be responsible for the direct line management of our sales executives, currently a team of 3.

Reporting Structure: Reporting directly to the Managing Director initially.
Qualifications: Relevant work-based experience.
Hours of work: The role is full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
Location: The role is principally office-based, although visits to prospects’ offices and events are required. Access to a car and a driving licence are therefore essential. All travel expenses will be paid in accordance with HMRC guidelines (i.e. all business-related travel expenses will be reimbursed, but travel to and from home to the office cannot be paid).
We are located in Knypersley, Stoke-on-Trent but operate throughout the UK and our offices are a 10 minute drive from the A500.
