Business Development Manager – Foodservice Packaging
Location: Hybrid – 1-2 day per week in Kent, 3 days with clients
Salary: £50,000 – £90,000 (DOE) + Bonus + £7,000 Allowance
We are partnering with a leading provider of packaging solutions for the food & beverage (F&B) sector, supporting cafes, hospitality, catering, and related businesses. As part of their ambitious growth plans, they are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive sales and expand their client base. This role offers flexibility in seniority, with salary ranging from £50,000–£90,000 depending on experience, plus a performance-based bonus of up to 20%.
About the Role
This is a high-energy sales role requiring proactive business development, strong relationship-building skills, and a keen understanding of the foodservice industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and securing long-term partnerships with key clients.
What We’re Looking For
We are open to candidates at different levels, from those with 3-5 years of experience to highly seasoned sales professionals with a proven track record of driving revenue growth in packaging, foodservice, or related industries. Key attributes include:
* Proven Sales Ability: Experience in B2B sales, ideally in packaging, foodservice, catering, or hospitality supply.
* Relationship Builder: Strong networking and client engagement skills, with the ability to identify and nurture new opportunities.
* Commercially Driven: A results-oriented mindset, with a clear understanding of sales processes and revenue growth strategies.
* Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the challenges and needs of the foodservice sector, particularly in relation to packaging and sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Generation & Business Development – Proactively identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities.
* Sales Pipeline Management – Build and manage a robust pipeline, tracking progress via CRM tools.
* Client Relationship Management – Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key decision-makers.
* Strategic Sales Growth – Work closely with internal teams to align sales strategies with company objectives.
* Market & Competitor Analysis – Stay informed about industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Salary & Benefits
* Entry-Level BDM: £50,000 – £55,000 base + up to 20% bonus
* Mid-Level BDM: £60,000 – £70,000 base + up to 20% bonus
* Senior BDM (Head of BD): £75,000 – £90,000 base + up to 20% bonus
* Annual Car & Travel Allowance: £7,000
* Bonus Structure: 50% company EBITDA performance, 50% personal KPIs (lead generation, conversions, revenue growth, gross margin improvements)
