The Opportunity:
You will develop outputs for publication and work towards effective knowledge exchange and impact, in collaboration with an interdisciplinary international research team, NGO partners and key stakeholders, as a member of a major collaborative project examining how the alcohol, ultra-processed food, and fossil fuel industries influence population health in Sub-Saharan Africa. The project will seek to inform the development of policies that can effectively promote health and sustainable development.
This post is fixed term from January 2025 for 18 months.
This post is part time (21 hours per week), and we are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote (within the UK) and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success:
1. An appropriate degree with relevant postgraduate research experience. Normally a PhD in public health, health policy, social policy, political science or related discipline.
2. Expertise in diverse research methods including evidence synthesis, reviews, interviews and document analysis.
3. Research expertise in commercial determinants of health across alcohol and fossil fuel industries.
4. A proven track record in policy focused, interdisciplinary academic research focused on corporate political activity.
