Rates: £40 per hour Umbrella, £30.23 per hour PAYE
Job Description
We are looking for a buyer for a leading aerospace company based in Filton. This role will contribute to all sourcing activities throughout the contract life cycle, managing tendering and contract negotiation including cost reduction and change management. Act as the focal point for your contracts covering various commercial programmes with Aerostructures Procurement to lead projects as needed, manage the day-to-day relationships with suppliers and optimise customer value, while minimising total cost of ownership & risks.
Responsibilities
1. Set up and lead Procurement activities for products including securing the contractual framework with the suppliers.
2. Lead the sourcing activities as applicable, managing the tendering and the contract negotiation to achieve the best purchasing conditions in accordance with Company requirements and procedures.
3. Monitor the contract with suppliers and Company stakeholders to achieve, throughout the contract life cycle, a complete application of terms and conditions to ensure suppliers deliver expected performance in all dimensions including logistic, support, quality and cost.
4. Act as the main focal point for the contracts internally and externally and manage the day-to-day relationships with suppliers and running projects to optimize customer value, while minimizing total cost of ownership & risks.
5. Co-ordinate with the Multi-Functional Team (Engineering, Programme, Finance and Supply Chain, Quality) for all activities related to the contracts.
6. Assist in defining and implementing the commodity strategy, perform market analysis and support global sourcing and offset initiatives.
7. Ensure accurate financial forecasts together with Financial Controlling in relation to financial risks and opportunities for the Suppliers/Contracts.
8. Ensure risk and opportunity management is embedded in the day-to-day operations.
9. Ensure all opportunities for counter claims for whatever reason are collated and charged back to the supplier.
Skills
1. Procurement experience essential, although applications from applicants with good business experience and knowledge of the Procurement process are also welcomed.
2. Experience in working in a multi-functional environment.
3. Experience in stakeholder management and influencing internal customers.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills including at senior management level.
5. Commercial, contract and Finance knowledge is desirable.
