Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: We are looking for support workers who want to make a real difference, as the role is not your run of the mill care job! Our charity's mission is to enable the people we support to live their best life possible! So we are looking for people who are passionate about enabling this to happen! Peopl that can think for themselves, and use their initiive as well as being able to follow instructions, and put the people you support first! On Hayling Island, we have two services, that are very close to one of the beaches. The people that live there all have different support needs. These include physical and learning disabilities, as well as other complex and sometimes behaviours of concern. These services are full of fun and laughter, with great teams and wonderful people we support! As well as the teamwork in each individual service, the two homes work closely together, taking trips out in the local community, or further afield so being a driver that is happy to drive the service minibus is essential! Your values:
It takes a special person to work in social care, and we recognise that not everyone who might be perfect for the role, will have any professional experience. This is why we are really passionate about recruiting to your values. This means we can recruit from all walks of life, from people with vast experience in support work or care assistant roles, to those with lived experiences looking after friends or family members with disabilities, to people with other transferable skills or those with no experience at all.
Naturally it is important that you share our company values - We Include, We Deliver, We Aspire, We Respect, We Enable. This is at the heart of everything we do and ensures that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. Values are important to us, so we look for people with:
9. A caring nature, with a mature outlook
10. Patience, Resilience and Determination
11. Compassion, Sensitivity, and Empathy
12. Honesty and Reliability
13. A strong work ethic, and a natural problem solver
Here at Community Integrated Care, we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong. We want to be an organisation that is truly fair and equal to all – where individual diversity is valued, unique characteristics celebrated, and everyone feels able to bring their true selves to work. By encouraging and embracing a range of diverse backgrounds, experiences, capabilities and viewpoints, we will build a stronger, richer, more vibrant workforce, which reflects the people we support, and the communities in which we work. It helps us make better decisions, bring fresh ideas and become a true provider and employer of choice.
We have a really clear plan to achieve this called A Place I Belong. This publicly sets out the promises we’ve made to achieving this vision and how we will hold ourselves to account to getting there. You can read more about this by clicking here.
