Cardfactory are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team. In this role you'll support our retail property and retail operations teams.
In this role, you’ll provide valuable insights, analysis, business case modeling, and high-quality reporting. This is a fast-paced role, perfect for a flexible finance professional who can quickly adapt to changing priorities and managing multiple projects. You’ll be part of cross-functional teams, helping to drive strategic business decisions.
Based at Junction 41 in Wakefield, with free parking and a flexible, hybrid way of working, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in our team. Colleagues are required to work in the office for a minimum of 1-2 days per week, with the expectation of additional attendance when needed.
Role Responsibility
* Deliver regular financial performance reports for retail property and operations, focusing on key metrics, variances, and trends.
* Analyse wage costs and their impact on profitability, providing insights for cost control and efficiency.
* Model business cases for new stores, relocations, refits, and closures, ensuring financial viability and strategic alignment.
* Conduct regular performance investment reviews to assess the financial effectiveness of property and retail projects and determine next steps.
* Build strong relationships with property and operations teams to support strategic planning and align business function plans with enterprise goals.
* Collaborate on specific operational projects, offering financial expertise and guidance to drive cost-effective decision-making and deliver the business operating plan.
* Support the planning and budgeting process for Retail Property and Operations, particularly for store investment and wages.
* Identify and implement process improvements in reporting and analysis, using Power BI to enhance speed and accuracy of decision-making.
* Lead and develop Junior Commercial Analysts, providing mentorship and guidance to enhance their financial analysis and reporting skills. Responsible for recruitment, training, objective setting, and feedback.
The Ideal Candidate
* Chartered accountant with strong post-qualification experience in commercially focused finance roles.
* Beneficial experience in retail, property, or operations sectors.
* Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data, preparing reports, business case modeling, and forecasting to support decision-making.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial insights to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally.
* Strong critical thinking skills for identifying issues and problem-solving.
* Experience in mentoring or leading junior analysts, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate resilience and flexibility.
* Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously and a strong track record of proactively seeking and acting on areas for improvement.
