About the Role:
Any potential candidates must have Grade C or above in Level 2 Maths and English in order to apply for this role with us at Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth. As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will be extremely well organised, IT literate, and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You will work as part of a team within the academy to promote the learning and welfare of students by providing practical and learning support to students, including those with special needs. It is essential that you have the ability to respect and maintain confidentiality at all times, establish a supportive relationship with the children concerned, and deal with immediate problems or emergencies according to the Academy’s policies and procedures.
You will primarily support our Personalised Development Centre, which will assist students returning to the academy after long-term absence. Many of these students may have emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), which will impact their emotional, mental health, and wellbeing. Potential candidates must have the ability to work with students on an emotional level whilst promoting attendance and bridging the gap in education through 1-1 and small group work.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role, please contact Sam Harvey, HR Assistant.
