The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services to clients while leading the Private Client team from the front and supporting the development of the department and your colleagues. Key Responsibilities Executry Management: Handles estate administration, provides guidance to executors and beneficiaries, and oversees asset distribution. Inheritance Tax (IHT) Planning: Deliver expert advice on IHT planning and compliance, including preparation of tax accounts and liability minimisation. Trusts: Advise on the creation, management, and dissolution of trusts, ensuring regulatory compliance. Wills: Draft bespoke wills tailored to clients' diverse personal and financial needs. Powers of Attorney: Prepare and advise on financial and welfare Powers of Attorney. Guardianships: Assist with guardianship applications and act as a financial guardian where required. Client Relationships: Foster strong relationships with clients and provide client-focused portfolio management. Team Leadership: Mentor junior solicitors, guide support staff, and contribute to the growth and success of the Private Client team. Requirements Essential: Qualified Solicitor with 5-10 years' post-qualification experience in Private Client law. Expertise in Executry management, IHT planning, Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Guardianships. Comprehensive knowledge of Scottish Private Client law. Outstanding interpersonal and client care skills. Desirable: STEP membership or a willingness to attain this qualification. Proven experience in managing and mentoring legal teams. What's on Offer?
