Quality Engineer
39-Hr week - Monday - Friday

Our client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE A SOLID BACKGROUND IN A MACHINING / CNC ENVIRONMENT OR PRECISION MECHANICAL ENGINEERING due to the company quality control measures.
In this role, you will report to the Quality Manager and primarily liaise directly with the production team to provide support and guidance to process improvements.
Main Duties
1. Ensure procedures are updated and developed to achieve best practice.
2. Ensure that all customer specifications are met and maintained, and that quality planning and process documentation is organised.
3. Conduct internal data analysis, ensuring that all internal NCRs are raised and documented using various problem-solving techniques to review and resolve these issues in a timely manner, escalating where necessary.
4. Validate customer complaints and ensure that corrective actions are robust using common quality tools such as 8D and 5 Whys.
5. Administer applications for concessions, waivers, and production permits.
6. Identify, analyse, and resolve or recommend effective solutions to a range of problems.
Additional Duties
1. Understand the direct creation, controls, and input of data from drawings, standards, and specifications into the company MRP for use in process control sheets, batch routing, and FAIRs.
2. Work on any other tasks undertaken by the Quality department as directed.
3. Monitor quality KPIs and assist in constructing a monthly report.
4. Monitor suppliers' performance and assist the buyer with approval ratings.
5. Monitor and ensure the system audit schedules (Quality & Environmental) are maintained.

Skills
1. Demonstrable experience with problem resolution and root cause analysis.
2. Hands-on experience of reading and understanding technical drawings, symbols, revisions, and specifications.
3. Computer literate and confident with a willingness to learn new skills.
4. Self-motivated, versatile, and able to work without supervision in a multi-functional team environment.
5. Experience with engineered metallic components (turned/milled) or related aerospace background.
6. Knowledge and experience of using precision measuring equipment.
7. Meticulous approach to measurement, comparison with standards, and monitoring of processes.
Training will be provided for the right candidate where applicable.
