We are currently seeking an Enterprise Risk Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk team here at First Hawaiian Bank. Under the guidance of the Enterprise Risk Manager, this role will support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Bank’s risk management framework, and all other activities associated with the Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) Program. This position requires a professional who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, organized and skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various business functions. The Enterprise Risk Analyst will contribute to policy design, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide insights that enable informed decision-making at the enterprise level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversight: Supports consolidation of identified risks and facilitates governance
2. Quarterly Management Reporting: Coordinates, prepares, reviews and produces materials for Enterprise and Board Risk Committees, including Risk Appetite Reporting Metrics and Forward-Looking Risk Metrics
3. Maintains the Bank’s material risk inventory and assess emerging risks for inclusion
4. Produces monthly Market Risk report for Asset-Liability Committee
5. Independently reviews material policy breaches to ensure compliance with ERM guidelines
6. Prepares ad-hoc risk reports and presentations for senior management and risk committees
7. Policy Development & Implementation: Assists with drafting, reviewing, updating and roll-out of ERM Policies & Governance documents and ensure they are kept current and aligned with schedules
8. Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Taxonomy and Risk Appetite Framework policies
9. Other ERM owned policies, standards and procedures
10. Board Risk and Enterprise Risk Committee charters
11. Advisory: Helps educate and promote Enterprise-wide adoption of sound and harmonized risk management practices
12. Supports Independent Risk Management efforts to craft second line of defense risk management of Bank’s activities and harmonizes risk management approaches (e.g., Policy Making, Risk Appetite Statement & Metrics, Policy Exceptions etc.)
13. Advises and helps risk owners apply ERM guidelines, provides an independent assessment of risk management efforts already incumbent within business units
14. Increases Risk Management literacy across the Bank through educational material and trainings related to ERM Policies and guidelines
15. Other Responsibilities:
16. Assists with preparation of and responds to internal audits and regulatory examinations
17. Supports efforts to continuously enhance ERM framework to incorporate best industry practices, enhance efficiency, and address organizational objectives
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $55,000 – $77,000 / annually; commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM (hours may vary)
Hybrid schedule option is available for this role
The ideal candidate will have:
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, risk management or a related field required
* Master’s degree in finance, business administration, risk management or a related field preferred
* Certification (FRM, PRM, CRMA or equivalent) preferred
* Two (2)+ years of professional experience in risk management, banking, quantitative analysis, or other related experience required
* Familiarity with risk frameworks such as COSO, ISO31000 or similar required
* Able to work effectively with all levels of management and staff; ability to build good working relationships across business units
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively present outcomes of complex, technical analytic approaches to a non-technical audience
* Able to work independently and execute responsibilities with minimal supervision
* Demonstrate solid organization skills with an ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines with quality results, high attention to detail and follow-through; proactively take initiative to solve problems quickly.
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite of applications
* Able to handle confidential matters judiciously
