About the role
In your role as Investment Accountant you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to own and manage the accounting and reporting requirements for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) including finalising the year-end and prepare for the year-end. Additionally, to provide forward looking technical support over SPV reporting requirements.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the Finance team, you will be responsible for:
1. SPV accounting and reporting:
o Manage and finalise the audit of c26 SPV Financial Statements under FRS102 for year ended, including audit liaison, query resolution, internal control management and attendance at SPV Board meetings.
o Responsible for ensuring the submission of c45 SPV tax returns (Corporate and Partnerships) for year ended. This would include managing and reviewing work assigned to other members in the team.
o Produce and/or review quarterly management accounts reporting on SPVs to facilitate scheme valuation and board requirements.
o Design and plan for year end audit for SPVs.
2. Technical support:
o Where required, provide technical support including formal papers, on relevant accounting and reporting requirements for SPVs. This would include leasing arrangements, consolidation requirements and upcoming disclosure changes such as climate change requirements.

To be successful in the role you will have:
* A credible finance professional capable of interpreting and representing the organisation’s interests in discussions and challenges with auditors and directors.
* FRS102 and IFRS technical experience and application in a corporate environment.
* External audit management and confidence to challenge where appropriate.
* Collaborative within finance and non-finance teams.
* Knowledge and experience of investments and SPVs.
* Knowledge of pensions industry.
