The department provides undergraduate teaching to medical students from Newcastle University across all stages of undergraduate education from early clinical experience visits to ward-based assistantships. Teaching is provided in a variety of clinical settings and the post-holders will be expected to spend approximately five sessions per week teaching undergraduate medical students and will be trained as simulation training faculty members whilst in post. The post holders will be expected to participate in student induction sessions and assessment sessions along with the Consultants. A variety of clinical sessions are provided within the job plan and it is expected that these will provide the post holders with valuable clinical experience as well as providing opportunities to deliver clinical teaching.
