Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Pharmacist to join our team. This is a full time remote role with national travel. It is expected that you will be visiting our services approximately four to six times a month. You will be responsible for supporting the Lead Governance Pharmacist in the promotion and delivery of activities which enhance the safety and governance of medicines within Newmedica. You will play a vital role in monitoring and auditing our surgical sites to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory standards. In addition, you will support quality improvement projects, audits and other medicine safety initiatives across the business. You will work closely with ICBs, external pharmacy services and Newmedica Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) partners, supporting the safe and effective delivery of care to our patients. You will also compile timely reports for OJVs, post inspection visits. You will operate as an experienced, registered Pharmacist with current and relevant practice and demonstrable knowledge and understanding of medicines governance, medicines optimisation, safety, legislation and best practice. You will be familiar with pharmacy regulations, and have experience of medicines governance; you will also need experience of pharmacy compliance and auditing. Professional knowledge of effective medicines optimisation and safe management of medicines in either a primary or secondary environment will help you to succeed in this role. You will be an excellent communicator with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. Excellent report writing skills are essential. You will also need excellent stakeholder management skills alongside the ability to challenge others and have difficult conversations. Experience of ophthalmology while not essential, would be an advantage.
