Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week. Hours of work will be flexible and dictated by the needs of the business, therefore it is expected that the successful applicant will work those hours necessary to successfully discharge the duties of the role.

About the role:
Overview:
For more than a decade, Age Partnership's web team has delivered the tools and products to help make Age Partnership the UK's number one equity release advisor. We are now poised to embark on a revamp of our digital presence, from our customer-facing products through to the architecture they're built on, and are looking for a Back End & Infrastructure Lead to take a leading role in this transformation.
This role will be a mix of hands-on coding, leading on technical projects, and managing our team of Back End Developers & DevOps Engineers. You will work together with our front-end development, data, marketing and software teams, collaborating on strategic initiatives that align with our business goals, whilst facilitating our move away from legacy platforms onto green-field systems.
Key outputs:
15. Driving the ongoing development and implementation of our back-end technical strategy, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our back-end web platform and infrastructure in line with up-to-date industry standards and best practises.
16. Developing, supporting and scaling a high-performing technical team through effective recruitment, training, and continuous performance management.
17. Leading technical projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet the needs of both our colleagues and customers, and align with the strategic goals of the business.
18. Actively participating in the development of internal and customer-facing applications.
19. Fostering a culture of collaboration with key departments across the business, working together to ideate, develop, and implement solutions.
20. Other ad-hoc duties as and when required by the business.

About the person
Overview
You will be an experienced back-end developer with at least 3 years experience working in a Senior or Lead developer role, who takes pride in creating industry-leading technical solutions and who cares deeply about cultivating a positive and supportive team culture.
You will display an enthusiastic approach to work, be innovative, detail orientated, have excellent organisation and communication skills, and be a team player. You will be keen to continue learning and developing your own skills as well as helping others to develop theirs.
Skills and knowledge:
33. A profound level of expertise in back-end web development using the LAMP stack – including frameworks like Symfony, or equivalent – and a strong grasp of DevOps principles.
34. Robust understanding of implementing and managing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and working with cloud platforms, such as Azure.
35. A strong track record of mentoring, coaching, or leading other developers, striving to create an environment that fosters growth and innovation and empowers their team and colleagues to excel.
36. Experience creating development roadmaps, technical strategies, development proposals and disaster recovery plans.
37. Enthusiastic about keeping up to date with industry trends, best practises advancements in Web / DevOps technologies
38. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with a track record of developing strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels of a business.
Qualifications & experience:
39. A mininum of 3 years experience in a Senior or Lead developer role.
40. Degree-level education level desirable, but not required.
41. Experience within the financial services industry or other regulated industry desirable.
