Customer Solutions Manager Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, as a CSM you will predominantly be focused on new business generation. Additionally, you will also be managing the needs of existing customers with support from the wider team. An ability to switch focus and manage your time accordingly will support your success in meeting agreed sales targets and KPIs. You will thrive in building relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders across a range of customer accounts, continually reviewing needs and acting on opportunities to present value added solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Create and implement a business plan to maximise sales & deliver excellent standards of customer service & support
2. Help to grow the Belfast Plant’s market share through generating new business opportunities whilst developing existing customer accounts
3. Achieve annual sales targets and KPIs
4. Be the main external point of contact for your customers, with emphasis on building relationships throughout the organisation
5. Maintain strong sales administration including the use of CRM (Dynamics) to follow up all leads, inquiries/quotes
6. Adopt a value selling consultative approach with customers in tailoring appropriate solutions to meet needs while developing/maintaining a strong knowledge of all packaging solutions and full product range
7. Work in a constructive manner, collaborating with your key internal colleagues across Sales, Design and Operations.
8. Win new business and to grow our market share through use of the Value Selling Process
9. Support the development of Packaging Solutions best practise and innovation to strengthen our position as market leaders.
10. To understand the customer and market specific challenges and pains in relation to consumable packaging and contribute in building tailored added value solutions.
11. Achieving sales volume, revenue and budget targets as defined by the Plant Manager.
12. Identifying Sales Targets, pursuing and monitoring progress of these targets to conclusion via Microsoft Dynamics CRM
13. All other duties as deemed appropriate by the Plant Manager.
About You

Essential Criteria
1. Be educated to third level, or equivalent experience.
2. Be Customer focused and have sales experience working in the packaging industry and/or a B2B sales environment with proven ability to win new business through direct customer contact.
3. Be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong customer relationships using your excellent communication and influencing skills.
4. Possess solid account management skills with a strong drive to deliver customer satisfaction and sustainable profit and volume growth within the business.
5. Be able to demonstrate working as a valued partner with your customer and be able to demonstrate a recent track record of success in meeting sales targets.
6. Have excellent spoken and written communication skills
7. Be proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
8. Be a dedicated team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude and passion to grow Smurfit Westrock’s market-share.
9. Have a creative mindset and tenacious approach to suit a dynamic and competitive market.
10. Be logical, consistent & resourceful in your approach.
11. Have a full driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
1. Prior packaging sales experience is especially welcomed, but we will consider candidates who can demonstrate a strong track record of sales achievement within closely affiliated sectors and industries.
2. Ideally have experience dealing directly with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering or Supply Chain departments in manufacturing industry.
3. Existing contacts in relevant manufacturing procurement, logistics and supply chain
4. Prior use of CRM systems - which is used for managing sales pipeline.
