IT Support Specialist | Windows, O365, User Admin | Greenfield IT function being established
* Hybrid 2-3 days a week in Aldford (near Chester)
* £30,000
Our client is offering an exciting opportunity to join their newly established Core IT Team.
They have 1,500 employees in the group, with 900 inside the division you will be working in (circa 200 technical employees). They have 7 offices across the UK, with their core tech location in Aldford, near Chester. Their client base is in the tens of thousands and is ever-increasing. There are endless growth opportunities here!
Our client provides a combination of services (mainly software & applications) to customers in the legal, health & safety, employment law, ISO regulation and cyber security fields. It’s an exciting time to be joining as the organisation has recently ‘gained independence’ having been carved out from its former parent PLC. Within the organisation, there are numerous sub-companies or operating companies that are being merged into one consolidated business unit.
Aligned to their consolidation strategy is the creation of a new Core IT team that is being created along with other core shared service functions such as HR, Finance, Legal etc. They currently have a Core IT Team of 5 which will grow this year to a team of 13 so there is already a foundation team in place that you will be working with. There is a general standardisation strategy where the company's CRM, ERP and core IT systems are all being unified along with removing technical debt.
Your role will be to provide technical support to internal users, ensuring smooth IT operations and resolving hardware/software issues efficiently. You’ll be the first point of contact for IT queries, troubleshooting problems, and supporting the maintenance of IT systems. This role involves working closely with IT operations, escalated support teams, and end-users to maintain a seamless IT environment.

For success in this role, you must have a can-do attitude and be happy to get stuck in with the team. As this is a comparatively small team where skills and resources are pooled you will be expected to ‘muck in’ on occasions with tasks and duties perhaps more junior than you would normally expect. It’s all about having the right attitude to help your peers when they need it and bringing a positive approach.
