Role: Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade A/B - Manchester)

As a Senior Solicitor in our Clinical Negligence team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and progressing cases with a high level of autonomy and expertise. Your responsibilities will include handling allocated cases from inception to resolution, ensuring that each is conducted with a proactive and commercially focused approach. You will correspond regularly with clients, medical experts, and other stakeholders to provide clear, informed guidance and maintain strong, supportive relationships. Your experience and leadership will be instrumental in delivering successful outcomes, driving the team's success, and upholding our commitment to excellence in clinical negligence law.
You would be joining a quality, experienced and growing team of Clinical Negligence lawyers several of whom hold accreditations such as from APIL, AvMA and Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel.

Main Responsibilities:
Accountable for:
1. Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
2. Proactive and commercial case management and progression
3. Supporting the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of the team's financial performance KPIs
4. Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible for:
1. Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and members of the team
2. Identifying cases which are ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
3. Working with the team to ensure that relevant information is being collected and collated to enable the progression of the case
4. Management of a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
5. Co-ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
6. Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
7. Negotiating settlement and the issuing and service of proceedings should it be required
8. Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
9. Advising the team on any technical issues arising from
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Recent experience of handling a case load
2. 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
3. Excellent organisational and time management skills
4. Excellent communication and drafting skills
5. Excellent IT skills especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
6. Excellent attention to detail
7. Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
8. Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
9. Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
