Permanent contracts | 37 hours per week | Level 2 or Senior Social Workers (Grade J/K) £37,336 to £45,442 per annum– pay award pending | Corporate Parenting teams in Norfolk
I am Becky Harris-Cook, Head of Corporate Parenting in Norfolk and I am seeking to recruit social workers across both our In Care and Life Beyond Care Teams and will welcome applicants from Level 2 Social and Senior Social Workers.
We have ambitious plans to shape how we work with families, placing practitioners and relationship-based practice at the heart of what we do. Through Vital Signs, our vision for Children in Norfolk is to work with whole family networks and across the whole system to support families to build on their strengths and to achieve the best possible outcomes.
We oversee all Looked After Children and Care Leavers in the county, for whom we are the Corporate parent. Our In Care teams are responsible for those under the age of 16, ranging from babies with a care plan of adoption, long term foster care or those placed in residential homes. Our Life Beyond Care teams are responsible for those 16+, as they mature and approach adulthood, all the way through to 21 years of age (25 if they wish for and need ongoing support).
Our passion is for ensuring our young people are equipped with the skills and resilience to navigate their journey through to independence, with the support of our own Support for Success team. This starts from a young age and is led by the young person and their ambitions for their future. We know our young people, we listen and make plans which are co-produced alongside them, and ultimately, we are present and available to support them, building long-standing relationships and trust.
We are an ambitious Service who always strive for the best outcomes for our young people. At the heart of everything we do, regardless of role or team, remains child-focused and relationship-based practice, ensuring all our young people are treated as individuals and listening to their voice. We pride ourselves on our practice with young people, their families and their networks, maintaining that same focus in our practice with colleagues, partners and external agencies. We believe that despite being looked after, relationships with family, time spent with family members and family- based care remains our priority, helping our young people through our Life Story approach to gain an understanding of their journey, provide them with honest answers to their questions and decisions made, and promoting their identity and networks.
As Corporate Parents, we believe it is vital for our young people to be afforded opportunities to learn, and we work closely with our Virtual School to ensure education, employment and training is promoted. We not only promote health and wellbeing, but practice in a trauma informed way, incorporating therapeutic approaches within our work with children, young people, their carers and families. Our practitioners, clinicians and clinical psychologists within our Support for Success team provide our In Care and Life Beyond Care teams with the specialist knowledge and skills required to reflect upon the needs of our young people.
With relevant professional vocational qualification in Social Work, you will have registration with Social Work England. You will have experience working within the Corporate Parenting area or transferable skills with the ability to motivate individuals and create high performing teams, you will bring strong leadership skills and will have managed performance during periods of change.
