Business Improvement District (BID) – Street Security Officer
Lodge Service is looking for a full-time Warden / Security officer to join the BID team to support a multitude of retail and commercial businesses and district in Greater London BID area.
This is an exciting opportunity to represent the Baker St BID in supporting the businesses, employees, and visitors to the BID area. Working for Lodge Service, the role is varied, requiring a mix of skills and experience. Its never boring and people skills is key to succeed in this role!
You will be required to work in partnership with BID businesses, Council, and the Police to help deter crime, deal with low-level anti-social behavior and provide reassurance to the BID community. In addition, you will have a key role in ensuring the BID looks great by identifying issues and reporting them to the BID maintenance team for action.
You will have the support you need to excel, branded uniform, access to technology, and become a vital part of a team focused on creating a safe and inviting place for businesses, employees, and visitors to the BID area.

Role-specific frontline training is provided by Lodge Service.

KEY TASKS:
1. Provide a visible, proactive and reassuring presence in the Greater London BID area.
2. Engaging with businesses to communicate the work of the Baker St BID and provide advice and guidance as necessary about crime or other issues.
3. Visiting businesses regularly and maintain regular contact to offer reassurance and impart information.
4. Support the link between the Baker St BID and the area business.
5. Report public realm issues (broken street furniture, signs, litter, etc).
6. Identify, investigate, deter, and report on crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
7. Take part in coordinated operations to specifically patrol problem areas.
8. Ensure appropriate information sharing with the right teams within key partners and agencies, including outreach services, local Police, Local Authorities, crime reduction agencies, etc.
9. Reporting on to electronic platforms BID information KPIs.
10. Be a friendly face to locals and business owners.
Job Details:
40-48 hrs per week (6 days)
Salary: £14.00 per hour
License types required for the role:
* SIA Licence Security Guarding
* SIA Licence Door Supervisor
Other Requirements:
* Five-year checkable employment/education history for vetting purposes.
* Good customer service skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Basic computer skills.
* Previous experience in working in a similar role is desirable.
* Previous law enforcement experience is advantageous.
* Prepared to work varied shifts.
* Confident working alone and as part of a team.
* A proactive, enquiring mind and positive attitude.
