At Atkore Flexicon we are seeking a dynamic and experienced
Business Development Manager – UAE
to be responsible for major projects in the United Arab Emirates.
The role will take responsibility for the delivery of the sales and profit budget in agreed targets, operating within specification channels. You will be responsible for the pre-qualification and specification of Flexicon products on major projects in the United Arab Emirates. The delivery of your objectives will be reliant on you owning the process of specification and working closely with the local Flexicon distributors to ensure that Flexicon is the vendor of choice on high specification projects. Working closely with major consultants, designers, and contractors, you will be the first point of contact for specifiers aiding them in correct product specification for their application, with the support of the Flexicon Technical Support team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fully understand the customer base in your market, focusing specifically on high specification verticals requiring superior quality products and solutions.
2. Fully understand the drivers within your customer base such as legislation and customer requirements.
3. Take ownership and Management of specific strategic Emirati Key Accounts as defined by the Export Sales Director.
4. Take ownership of strategic Major Contractors as defined by the Export Sales Director.
5. Take ownership of specific vertical markets and key projects defined by the Export Sales Director. Utilise the use of Salesforce for tracking and reporting on Sales leads and conversion rates.
6. Provide regular Market and Competitor analysis and updates.
7. Work closely with Export Sales Manager to maximise the wider Atkore product synergy opportunities.
8. Identify and influence the opportunity to position Flexicon and Atkore as Vendor of Choice with major project stakeholders.
9. Understand the need to identify different sales strategies for different projects, applications, and customers.
10. Work within the companies defined pricing policy and go to market strategy.
11. Develop relationships with the key personnel within your customer base at the right level.
12. Fully utilise and contribute to the market intelligence within the business to develop further business opportunities.
13. Understand at all times where, you are/need to be, in order to achieve sales and specification targets.
14. Understand the need to continually increase business knowledge and learn new skills through a combination of training and personal development.
15. Work in an integrated manner with key colleagues, specifically the Flexicon Technical Support team, Export Sales team, Vertical Market OEM Teams, Market internal sales teams and other Atkore Sales and marketing colleagues.
16. Contribute to the ongoing development of the sales strategy, specifically new products, new market opportunities, marketing campaigns and wider SDP initiatives.
17. Ensure that Flexicon locally owns the specification and supply process from initial specification to order placement.
18. Ensure that the local distribution partners and their sales teams are kept aware of any opportunities or developments relevant to their own activity.
19. Provide a monthly report of activity including successes, opportunities, and market requirements to achieve the company’s goals.
20. Follow Company Procedure regarding all administrative aspects of the role completing administrative tasks on an on-going basis.
21. Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions throughout the course of their business activities, acting in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and always setting a personal example.
22. Undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by your manager.
Education/Qualifications/Training
1. Degree in Business and or Engineering
2. Computer literate – intermediate level or above in Word and Excel
3. Multi-lingual e.g. Arabic and English
Experience/knowledge
1. Experienced technical sales/account manager with proven track record
2. Exposure to working with international customers
3. Experience of working in industrial manufacturing
4. Commercial experience with proven ability to increase sales in key accounts and industrial markets
5. Scale and growth, experience gained in a fast-growing company – indicative range of £10m to £50m
6. Ability to build rapport with customers
7. Knowledge of customer service principles
