A great opportunity has arisen and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Matron to lead our award winning Research Delivery Team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital to support the delivery of NIHR adopted research studies. You will be expected to work in a range of clinical areas and disease sites as part of our generic research delivery team. Main duties of the job Work with the research team to lead on the operational aspects of the set up of new studies, oversee the delivery of the Hospital wide work to recruit participants to the research studies, maintain follow up visits, be responsible for entering data onto trial databases, raise the profile of research within the trust, record and maintain accurate documentation relating to trial participants. Responsibilities will include overseeing the education of patients and colleagues, coordination of care of patients on trials, collection and preparation of biological samples, collection of trial data and monitoring of the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatment modalities. The post holder will be expected to develop specialised skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials, the therapies and the relevant disease site. The post holder will be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patient's advocate.
