WHAT TO EXPECT
JLR has an opportunity for a high calibre and experienced, forward thinking strategy lead to join our brand-new Industrial Operations Strategy Team. The Industrial Strategy team develops strategic plans to support all future vehicle & power pack developments for the complete range of JLR vehicles.
You will be responsible for developing our new vehicle programmes through the pre-kick off & strategy phase whilst ensuring adherence to Business Creation Delivery System (BCDS)/Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS). You will have to engage & liaise with the whole Industrial Operations organisation and supporting functions and include the wider business enterprise as appropriate for study feasibility.
This position will be a key part of the Industrial Strategy Team, working closely with global capacity planning, vertical integration and Global Product Strategy teams.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
You will use your knowledge to lead and co-ordinate projects & programmes to deliver the safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals in the strategy phase before ensuring a robust handover.
1. Lead and co-ordinate IO deliverables for BCDS Projects and pre-KO PCDS projects, ensuring those are delivered on time, within budget and to world class quality levels.
2. Liaise across all departments and technologies (including for example, Stampings, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain and Program Management) to ensure all interests are represented and considered.
3. Ensure implementation of the Vertical Integration Strategy and guarantee tactical Make vs Buy studies are completed in line with key automotive trends and Supply Chain Design.
4. Lead on strategic and tactical studies in line with cycle plan activities and business requirements, through continual liaison with Product Strategy and Corporate Strategy and support the development of Future Global Footprint Strategy aligning with the Site strategy team.
5. Coordination of Risk Management in line with Enterprise Risk Management reporting system for each program.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1. Experience in strategic planning and project implementation with excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
2. Sound project management experience working across multiple teams within an industrial engineering/manufacturing-based organisation.
3. A strong understanding of procurement/purchasing strategy.
4. Experience in working on and understanding the manufacturing process of products from concept through to completion.
5. Strong stakeholder management experience across multiple teams and different levels.
