Joshua Robert is working with a well-established client collaborating with several local authorities and housing associations across the North East. Gateshead Council is looking for a couple of Business Support Assistants to join their team on a temporary basis for 3 months. Description of the role:
1. To update manual and computerised records and ensure they are accurately maintained in accordance with Service timescales.
2. To carry out case audits and collate and analyse performance management information, producing reports on behalf of management.
3. To provide support within the Duty/Triage and manage the rota of front-line services where necessary.
4. To have responsibility for the co-ordination, monitoring, and provision of administrative support at statutory meetings across the service, including the accurate taking and recording of minutes.
5. To manage petty cash, and the ordering and payment of invoices.
6. To respond to enquiries at the first point of contact, managing the unpredictability of call types and caller needs, which could be complex, challenging, and face-to-face.
7. Such other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post.
Experience needed:
1. Using office-based software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
2. Good communication skills.
3. The ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
4. Prioritising workload and working to tight deadlines.
5. Minute taking and co-ordination of meetings.
6. Working in an administrative setting.
7. Implementing and developing manual and computerised systems.
Knowledge needed:
1. Administrative Systems & Procedures.
Qualifications needed:
1. 5 GCSEs A - C or 9 - 4 including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or relevant demonstrable experience.
2. NVQ level 3 in Business Administration.
Working week: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
