Position: Health Care Worker

Our client has a vacancy for a Health Care Worker to work under the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse in Charge to provide care in accordance with the individual resident’s care plans. It is essential that you have good communication skills, both oral and written, be professional in your approach and be able to demonstrate a commitment, understanding and empathy towards working within the Care industry. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and be available to work a flexible rota over a 24-hour/7 days period. Ideally, you will have experience of working within the Care sector and working with people of varying abilities.
Responsibilities
1. To participate as a full member of the nursing team in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
2. To provide ongoing monitoring, support and assessment of all residents’ needs.
3. To promote personal, social skills and social and leisure activities for all residents.
4. To complete delegated caring tasks and inform Registered Nurse in Charge of any observations as directed.
5. Report to the Nurse in Charge and record in the residents' nursing record all care/nursing interventions and any observations as directed.
6. Monitor all residents’ movements continuously and report any concerns to the Nurse in Charge.
7. To relate to relatives and carers with empathy.
8. To follow Company Policies & Procedures at all times.
9. To attend mandatory training courses relevant to the position at the direction of the Home Manager.
10. To be aware of the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, having particular regard for the following practices: Fire prevention, Manual Handling, Health & Safety, Food Handling, First Aid.
11. To be aware of safety and security of environment at all times ensuring all hazards are made safe and reported to the Nurse in Charge immediately.
12. To undertake such other duties as may be mutually determined from time to time.
