The Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Operations department, whilst challenging the status quo. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, this position involves overseeing and managing all operational activities within the Company. The Operations Manager collaborates with various departments to optimise efficiency, maintain compliance, and uphold our Company core values. Main Duties & Responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership: Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices through risk assessment, legal compliance, and continual improvement. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the Companies overall vision and goals. Collaborate with senior leadership to drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth. Team Management: Lead and inspire a diverse team of managers, supervisors, and technical experts. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities. Process Optimisation: Identify areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and streamlined workflows. Implement best practices across production, logistics, quality control, and maintenance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive operational excellence. Risk Management: Mitigate operational risks by ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Develop operational contingency plans and risk management protocols. Proactively address any operational challenges. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, procurement, finance, and other departments. Facilitate effective communication and alignment of operational goals. Drive cross-functional initiatives to enhance overall organisational performance. Budget Oversight: Strategically manage financial performance, exceeding budget expectations, optimising revenue streams, and ensuring sustainable profitability Fostering a culture of value creation, and driving sustainable year-over-year growth Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditures. Report operational performance to the GM and Senior Management team. AND 10 years recent middle management experience in manufacturing/ engineering/ other relevant field, experience. Working knowledge of complex planning. Lean six sigma green or black belt or proven experience of lean practices. Skills & Abilities Proven track record of achieving objectives and targets. Ability to delegate tasks effectively without losing ownership. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in problem-solving techniques and numerical reasoning. Strong leadership and evidence of team development and mentoring.
