The Senior Engineer is required to support the production of the CS&A Engineering and CE&I Design activities. The scope of work is as follows:
For CS&A:
* Attend site survey.
* Carry out stakeholder review.
* Review the previous design for status and adequacy in order to scope activities to be conducted during the detailed design stage and produce a summary NFR.
* Establish and underpin fire rating requirements for D572 needed to substantiate the design for the 3rd Fan and record in an NFR.
* Review and identify shortfalls from D572 against fire rating requirements and record requirements in an NFR.
* Perform investigation into the use of cladding to upgrade D572 to meet its fire rating requirements. This will consider practicability, method of mounting, loading calculations, availability/cost and other consequential impacts.
* Make conclusion about the viability of using room D572 to support the C5 Vent Fan. Produce an NFR to record the conclusions and the proposed way forward.
* Determine floor loading implications of the CE&I source-of-supply proposals generated during this Appraise and Select phase.
* Attend and support assistance design review to confirm defined stage scope.
* Support the generation of estimates and schedules for the define phase submission.
My Profile
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* General all round civil and structural design experience required, with experience working on alterations and modifications to existing structures amongst other asset care type projects.
* Experienced in delivering work for SL (preferred).
* Chartered Engineer with the IStructE or ICE (preferred).
* Incorporated Engineer with the IStructE or ICE (minimum).
* Experienced in writing safety case documents (e.g. DARs and DJRs) (preferred).
* Demonstrate strong leadership behaviours to drive timely delivery of an engineering schedule to quality and cost.
* Experience of managing projects, developing schedules and estimates and managing stakeholders.
* A strong understanding of the challenges faced working on asset care tasks in the nuclear sector (preferred).
Desirable Experience & Qualifications / Additional Information
* Monitored Worker (preferred).
* Proficient user of MS Office suite (essential).
* Experience using searching for information in Cimage and Icepac (preferred).
* Proficient in the use of Tedds and Staad Pro (preferred).
* Ability to undertake and check impact calculations (preferred).
