Teaching Personnel, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Specialists to work in mainstream secondary schools across Northampton. We are looking for individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that all learners receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
2. Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans, ensuring the individual needs of each student are met.
3. Support students in developing independence and confidence in their learning.
4. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other school staff to implement effective strategies and interventions.
5. Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and adapting approaches as necessary.
6. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
7. Promote social and emotional development, helping students integrate successfully into school life.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Have experience working with students with SEN (whether in a school setting or other relevant environments).
2. Be patient, empathetic, and committed to providing the best support for each student.
3. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
4. Have a positive, proactive attitude and be adaptable to the varying needs of students.
5. Ideally hold a relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or a related field, although this is not essential.
