Although were headquartered in Cambridge, we are staffed by around 80% permanently remote employees that are located all over the UK. All of our team members are full-time employees.
Role Overview:
We are searching for a conscientious and detail-oriented Head of Sales to join our team. This role requires deep technical expertise in eCommerce with a strong background in the Shopify ecosystem. The role sits within the commercial team and reports directly into the Commercial Director and Managing Director. We are looking for a candidate with technical Shopify knowledge that understands digital architecture, frontend experiences, and backend functionality. We’re not necessarily looking for a candidate with a development background; you don’t have to know the syntax to understand the logic!
Day to Day Duties:
* Client Acquisition: Engage with incoming opportunities and prospective eCommerce brands, with a small amount of targeted, proactive outbound engagement. Ability to present the agencys value proposition, quickly assess technical debt and understand how to close deals with a delicate touch - We are NOT a pushy (sales’y) business and this is important to our brand and ethos.
* Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, understand their needs, and proactively identify how to serve their requirements.
* Proposal Development: Creating bespoke, technical proposals that address specific client briefs and demonstrate the agencys ability to deliver against them from both a technical and commercial perspective.
* Cross Team Collaboration: Working with the commercial team to assess, address, and prioritise incoming leads. Working with internal teams (Development / Design / Strategic / Tech team) to distil client briefs into technical scopes of work and proposals. Working with AM’s, PM’s and Strategists to understand the business case for work requests.
Skills / Experience:
* Proven track record of success in eCommerce sales, preferably within an agency environment.
* Deep understanding of the eCommerce landscape, including platforms, marketing channels, and customer behaviors.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively pitch agency services to potential clients.
* Data-driven decision making with proficiency in analytics tools.
* Active involvement in scoping project specifications and delivering effective solutions.
* Ability to work independently within a dedicated team.
* UK-based, with flexibility around working remotely or hybrid.
Desirable Attributes:
* Previous experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
* Brand-side digital experience within progressive and/or luxury verticals.
* A strong problem-solving attitude and attention to detail.
* The ability to articulate client deliverables in both technical and creative language.
* Enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative and positive work culture.
* Strong understanding of Shopify theme development.
* Background in web development could be useful but is not at all essential.
