Injection Moulding Technician A leading multinational manufacturer of packaging components is seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician to join their team at their site. This company boasts a long-standing reputation for manufacturing excellence, underpinned by industrial and technical prowess, high levels of automation, and advanced data exchange in its manufacturing processes. Why This Role Stands Out: Unlike larger moulding environments with huge mould shops and frequent tool/colour changes, this facility operates with a focused setup of 8 injection moulding machines. This streamlined approach results in fewer tool changes, allowing for more consistent production runs and a stable working environment. Key Responsibilities: Operate Engel and Demag injection moulding machines and actuator assembly production lines on a rotational basis. Conduct quality control tasks per the cycle of control to ensure products meet customer specifications, taking full responsibility for accurate and timely checks. Perform comprehensive preventative and technical maintenance of production lines, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment and systems. Address breakdown repairs and reactive maintenance of automated assembly lines, packaging, and palletisation equipment. Assist in the installation of new equipment/machinery and modification of existing equipment. Operate and maintain the material conveyance system (Motan) and chiller systems. Troubleshoot and solve problems to tightly controlled and monitored standards, accurately documenting changes while adhering to quality standards. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen System) by designing, developing, and implementing ideas. Promote safe working practices and adhere to the company's clean-as-you-go policy. Support intermittent stock takes as required by the business. Undertake any other reasonable requests made by a Director/Manager of the organisation. Key Skills and Experience: An industry-recognised injection moulding qualification. Mechanical and electrical experience is advantageous. Experience with pneumatic maintenance. Ability to read technical drawings and manuals. Proficiency in fault-finding to component level. Strong awareness of Health and Safety requirements. Understanding of quality and hygiene standards in manufacturing. Capability to work unsupervised outside office hours responsibly and safely. Analytical and computer skills. Willingness to develop personal skills in line with the company's progression route. Flexibility to provide additional cover for holidays, absence, training, etc. Ability to handle boxes of components and pallets up to 10kg in weight, adhering to HSE guidelines on manual handling. Hours and Benefits: Full-time, permanent position. 24/7 shift pattern: 2-day shifts (6 am to 6 pm), followed by 2-night shifts (6 pm to 6 am), then 4 days off. 23 days holiday. Pension scheme.
