Engineering Shift Manager - Had Enough of Your Current Job? Read This.
Right, let's be honest - are you bored out of your mind in your current job? Stuck fixing the same breakdowns every day, watching the clock, and wondering why you even bother? Maybe you've got some supervisory experience, but no one actually listens to you. Or worse - you're already leading a team, but all you get is grief and zero support.
It's time for a proper step up. Somewhere you can actually make a difference, get stuck in, and have a say in how things run. Sound good? Keep reading.
What's the Job?
We're after an Engineering Shift Manager - someone who knows their way around a manufacturing floor, isn't afraid to take charge, and can keep things moving without losing their head when stuff hits the fan (because let's be real, it will).
This isn't one of those “sit in an office and send emails all day” jobs. You'll be on the ground, leading a team, making sure the kit stays running, and keeping production in check. If you like rolling your sleeves up and actually getting things sorted, this is for you.
What's In It for You?
A proper wage - None of that “competitive salary” nonsense. You'll be paid what you're worth.
A decent work-life balance - 4 days on, 4 days off (06:00 - 18:00). Work hard, then put your feet up.
A real chance to lead - No one looking over your shoulder every five minutes.
Cheap hot food on-site - No more sad meal deals.
Free parking & electric charge points - Because no one wants to pay to park at work.
A team that's actually sound - No divas, no nonsense, just people who want to get the job done.
What You'll Be Doing
Keeping things running - Planned maintenance, breakdowns, you name it. If it moves and it breaks, you're on it.
Leading a team - Motivating, coaching, and making sure no one's skiving in the corner.
Reporting & keeping things in check - A bit of paperwork, but nothing crazy.
Problem-solving - None of that “we've always done it this way” rubbish. If there's a better way, let's hear it.
Making a real impact - This is your chance to show what you can do.
What You Need
Manufacturing or FMCG experience - You know what a production line looks like.
Supervisory skills - Whether you've led a team of 5 or 50, you can get people moving.
Relevant qualifications - HND in Electrical (essential) + L3 NVQ in Mechanical or an Apprenticeship.
Common sense - Can you spot a problem before it becomes a disaster? Good.
A bit of banter - We don't do boring here.
