WHAT WILL YOUR DAY-TO-DAY LOOK LIKE
The primary function of this role is to support the finance team in preparing monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and associated financial tasks.
1. Stock reconciliations
2. Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts
3. Balance sheet reconciliations
4. Raising weekly/monthly invoices and ad hoc billing
5. Regular communication with relevant business partners
6. Preparation of ad-hoc reports for management and business partners
7. Managing deferred and accrued revenue
8. Logistics accruals and interdepartmental journals
9. Intercompany transactions
10. Supporting the audit process
11. Other ad hoc duties as required
WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED
Two years of experience in a fast-paced financial environment, either in practice or in a relevant FMCG/Retail setting in an assistant accountant role.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
Comfortable handling large volumes of data.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive mindset with a solution-focused approach.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities.
Works well as part of a team.
University/college degree preferable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.).
Experience with D365 is an advantage but not essential.
Interest in pursuing or currently undertaking an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
