Description Salary £31,067 - £ 39,513 per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Preston International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship The County Council is wishing to recruit an environmental professional to assist in the preparation of its minerals and waste local plan review and in other planning policy and development management duties. About the role: The County Council is currently carrying out a review of its minerals and waste local plan. The post holder will assist in that process including analysing data, preparing policy documents and other assessments and appraisals, reviewing and responding to consultation responses and assisting in the public examination of the draft plan. There will also be scope for the post holder to assist in other strategic planning projects and the County Council's development management responsibilities. About you: We are looking for someone with an interest in environmental issues particularly in relation to the minerals and waste industries. You should have a good knowledge of town and country planning legislation and procedures including the local plan preparation process You should have, or be working towards, a degree or equivalent in town and country planning, geography or other related environmental discipline. Previous experience of minerals and waste operations in a town and country planning context would be useful but is not essential You should have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with good report writing skills. You should also demonstrate good attention to detail and be able to analyse data to produce clear conclusions. Ability to use GIS based systems and data handling applications such as Excel would be useful.
