Reporting into the Head of Property, you will focus on the identification and delivery of development opportunities for the Pooled Property Fund. The perso n We’re looking for you to bring comprehensive expertise in the construction delivery process, grounded in practical, real-world experience. Having worked across the full life cycle of large scale developments, you have a detailed understanding of contemporary commercial property design and occupier expectations. Your skills in the field will include preparing feasibility studies, concept design, producing financial appraisals, understanding the contractor market, assessing procurement routes for suitability and a comprehensive knowledge of risk control and process management at all stages of the development lifecycle. With well-developed leadership skills, you’re adept at facilitating the establishment of highly effective professional teams to take developments from feasibility concept through to completion, whether collaborating with contractors, resolving architectural challenges or identifying and managing delivery risks. Over time, you’ll welcome the opportunity to take on line management accountabilities too. You’ll also have strong financial acumen, essential to understand and manage the financial complexities of developments, particularly when appraising and recommending transactions and strategies. Your background could be consultancy, project management, or construction management – most important is your deep, technical, hands-on expertise of delivering developments. As the external face of RailPen you’ll engage with the press, liaise with central government and present at external events - you’ll therefore need highly developed communication and presentation skills.
