Job Description:
Site Manager
Company & Role
A leading conservation and restoration contractor is looking to appoint a Site Manager to their management team in Yorkshire. Following privatisation in the mid 90’s, the company has gone from strength to strength, enabling them to work as principal contractor on large conservation projects. They have an in-house team of craftsmen supported by professional qualified office and project management teams. They have a financial turnover of £10 million with 100 employees, maintain a low staff turnover, and promote from within. Projects vary from £100K to £2.5 million, and they have worked on prestigious projects including Alnwick Castle, Fountains Abbey, Harewood Castle, and Syon House in London.
Due to increased project wins, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager (Stone Mason background) to join the team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of projects, be client-facing, and manage multiple trades and specialist contractors. You will liaise with the design team, represent the company at site meetings, and ensure the quality of site delivery. You will have the opportunity to mentor and coach junior stone masons, teaching them and helping them build their careers within the business.
Experience Required
To be considered for this role, you need to have a Stone Masonry background and some experience in a supervisory capacity on masonry projects. You must be able to work under pressure and possess good interpersonal skills to manage other team members effectively.
You should have personal drive and enthusiasm to ensure a high-quality service is delivered at all times, as well as good H&S knowledge and excellent communication skills.
Progression
There are aspirations for the company to grow their business within Yorkshire further, and for the right person, this role could progress into being a Contracts Manager.
The role comes with a competitive salary, performance-related bonuses, a company car, and a pension.
