A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a construction and/or a fit-out background to join a well-established, dynamic and growing business. My client has been trading for over 10 years and provides turnkey solutions for the construction and fit out sectors.
This Role is to lead the Mechanical Delivery of a range of exciting projects, across different sectors, dependent upon experience.
In this role you will control the overall operational delivery of a project, taking account of the safety, technical, commercial and managerial requirements through the whole life cycle of the project from project handover to successful completion.
You will ensure that profitability is maintained or improved through effective leadership and management of the support functions, and high-quality customer relationships.
The Duties
* To have overall responsibility for the project delivery.
* Uphold and ensure that requirements on Health, Safety & Environment are implemented, ensuring all documentation is issued and kept up to date throughout the project.
* Have a thorough understanding of the project obligations and requirements including but not limited to, employers requirements, contract requirements, specifications & program requirements.
* Understand contract program requirements with all relevant milestone dates and produce and manage an M&E installation program within the construction period.
* Work with the Operations Manager & Operations Director to develop the resource strategy for the project, engaging with sub-contractors and direct employees to ensure the correct manpower is in place.
* Understand and engage with pre-commencement activities in conjunction with the design function (In house or external), including Technical Submittals, RFI’s and overall approvals / acceptance.
* Review the design and report on any issues to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
* Produce procurement schedules, ensuring procurement is carried out in a timely and profitable manner.
* Develop the project quality plan, ensuring this is implemented throughout the project.
* Maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability in the delivery phase of the project.
* Understand and manage change control. Variations etc must be managed on a monthly basis.
* Identify and manage risks throughout, raising any concerns at the right time.
* Lead the team, including specialist sub-contractors, through all stages of the project through to successful completion, taking line management responsibility for MEP Site Managers to enable them to succeed.
* Take responsibility for the commercial performance of the project, ensuring costs are accurately and monthly valuations are robust.
* Lead contract reviews, including preparation and submission of reports and any project related data.
* Ensure regular reporting, both internal and external, is carried out in a timely manner and to the expected standard.
* Develop and maintain positive long-term customer relationships.
* Handover Projects on time and with all O&M information as required.
The Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
A proven track record in a similar position is, however, considered essential.
* Previous experience of managing £multi-million MEP/Building Services projects, or an ambition to achieve this.
* CSCS Card (Black or Gold)
* First Aid at Work
* SMSTS
* IOSH Managing Safely
* BS7671:2018 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Elec Only)
* Industry recognised qualification and/or apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
* Good Commercial management skills.
* IT Literate with main software packages (Office 365 + Program & Commercial Software)
* Full UK Driving Licence
