We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience in Primary Care and who is trained in dealing with Chronic Disease Management, Cervical Screening and Childhood Immunisations.
We have an excellent clinical team and dedicated administrators and receptionists. Our current list size is just over 11,300 patients and we are a SystemOne practice.
We are looking to cover approx. 30hrs but would be willing to consider full or part-time.
Salary is negotiable and depending on experience.
Main duties of the job
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GPs/Nurse Manager
* Cytology
* Removal of Sutures
* Urinalysis
* Travel Clinic
* ECGs
* Chronic disease management in line with QOF requirements
* Venepuncture
* Ear syringing
* Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
* Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required
* Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
* Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
* Ordering of stock
* Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
* Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
* At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
* A duty to advise the Practice Manager of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks
* Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
* On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Registered Nurse with Active Registration
* Qualified in Chronic Diseases (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD)
Experience
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Experience with Chronic Disease Management
* Experience in General Practice / Primary Care
