This is a unique opportunity to join a leading, purpose driven charity as their Public Affairs and Communications Officer. Our client are at the forefront of social work and its improvements, helping to support children and working to ensure new leaders in the field emerge.
Sitting in the external affairs team, this person will support on the public affairs and comms messaging around this hugely important issue, having a direct impact on their mission to support and improve the wider social case system.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead on the delivery of the organisation’s public affairs strategy, working to help grow and develop their public profile
* Monitor Parliamentary activity, policy developments and the wider media to provide relevant updates to stakeholders and the senior leadership
* Identify opportunities to build new sector and charity relationships
* Support the increased collaboration and insights sharing with the sector
Key Requirements:
* One to two years experience working in a public affairs/policy role
* A belief in the organisation’s aim and broader mission
* Have strong communication and influencing skills, and be able to build strong and productive working relationships
* Ability to work closely with the communications and wider external relationships team o ensure the alignment of engagement opportunities and relationship management
* Work with the comms manager to look for and respond to opportunities to shift the narrative and perception around the work the organisation does
