It is an exciting time to join our team. We have been selected by HEE KSS for the CESR project and received the CHKSS award for Patient Safety 2019. We welcome new ideas and diversity and the Trusts focus is on empowering clinical leadership. The primary duties of the post are to see new patients within the ED, and to be an on-site source of advice, help and supervision for more junior doctors in the ED. This is a senior post and specialty doctors will be the doctor in charge of the department at night with a consultant on call from home after midnight. The successful candidate will be working on the Middle Grade rota (see below) and accountable to the EM Consultants. We expect for the candidate to have good leadership skills, ability to manage the Department, including flow through the ED. The successful candidate will have a dedicated mentor (supervisor) and 1 SPA for training, CPDs and quality improvement projects, plus budgeted study leave days. This is a programme which includes dedicated one-to-one mentoring and a course mapped on the GMC domains. Dedicated mentoring for CESR applicants by CESR Consultants will take you through the application process. Practical experience will be delivered via simulation and workshops where you are at the centre of the learning experience. The trust has experienced CESR consultants who will be available to give the successful candidates support, mentorship and coaching. The post is intended to provide the clinician with the support and training required to successfully complete all aspects of the CESR process.
