Join us as an Assessments Officer and be at the forefront of transforming educational experiences for students at St Piers In this dynamic role, you'll support the educational assessments of students, ensuring they are appropriately placed at St Piers. You'll work closely with the Assessment Manager and the Admissions and Placements team to schedule parental visits, student assessments, and communicate with key stakeholders including parents, schools, and local authorities. Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with other teams to ensure new placements are suitable and sustainable; you’ll also be liaising with transition teams to ensure detailed and timely transition planning for all students. As an Assessments Officer, you'll conduct outreach visits to assess applicants' needs and suitability for placement at St Piers and compile detailed assessment reports to support placement offers and funding requests. If you're ready to take on this rewarding challenge, we want to hear from you What we need from you You will have experience of working in a specialist college with young people who have learning difficulties, complex needs, autism, and/or epilepsy. You will also have good administrative skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office. Key skills include an ability to support young people through an assessment and, as you will be writing a report afterwards, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. You will be able to work under pressure and be a great team player. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and it will be helpful if you also have an understanding of statutory SEND legislation.
