SHIFT PATTERN: 5 over 7, 40 hours per week
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
You will support and direct the team in execution of Security delivery in line with Assignment Instructions, ensuring service excellence. The role will see you lead a team of up to 15, ensuring consistency of operations and performance management across all shifts. This is a fast-paced environment, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the clients Centre Manager.
As an experienced Supervisor, with Incident Commander experience, you need to have a can-do attitude, be flexible, with excellent communication skills, and have a proven track record of enthusing and leading people towards a common goal, within in a retail location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leading the delivery of site Security, in accordance with company procedures, site AIs, compliance, and budget.
2. Ensuring that the team develops to meet succession planning needs.
3. Responsible for Health & Safety of all ABM employees and third parties who may be affected by work activities carried out within specific remit.
4. Actively participating in the development of succession planning and ongoing performance management.
5. Incident management and response, as Incident Commander.
6. Safeguarding of various assets to include people, buildings, and information.
7. Assist with the strategic planning of the Security function.
8. Oversee the delivery of Control Room services.
9. Completion of staff admin, wages, holidays, appraisals.
10. Cross functional working with the wider on-site teams.
11. Acting as the liaison between the Security Team and on-site retailers following incidents.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Demonstrated leadership skills within a retail environment and effectiveness coaching team members and inspiring teamwork both within their direct areas of responsibility and laterally among other work teams.
2. Must possess strong coordination, organization and liaison skills to help consult in the design and implementation of security program strategies, and the ability to seek and gain consensus on creative solutions to complex security issues.
3. Strong problem-solving skills - the successful applicant must be capable of accurately assessing needs, maintaining a calm business demeanour, and taking quick action to resolve issues.
4. The ability to identify opportunities for improving practices and processes and implementing these.
5. Clear and effective English written and spoken communication skills are critical as is the ability to promote the open flow of information by actively soliciting and listening to the ideas of others.
6. Leadership and ownership of the performance of Officers, ensuring they are fully briefed and competent, highly motivated, and functioning together across all shift teams as an effective, vigilant, and flexible unit.
7. Retail security experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Current SIA License holder, both Front Line and CCTV
2. IOSH Managing Safely desirable.
