Join to apply for the Salaried GP Armadale role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
NHS HIGHLAND
ARMADALE MEDICAL PRACTICE
Part Time or Full Time, Permanent Positions – up to 40 hours per week.
Salary scale: £98,238 to £110,736 per annum.
With a £5000 non-superannuable car allowance and a “Golden Hello” incentive and relocation packages to eligible candidates.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of a small team providing excellent primary care services to the active and resilient community of Armadale.
With the recent transfer of Armadale to NHS Highland management, we are keen to develop the team to deliver safe, sustainable services across both practices. The current practice population of Armadale is 900. Sitting along the North Coast 500 route, this can increase slightly due to tourism throughout the year. There are links to the other salaried practices in the locality (Durness, Scourie and Kinlochbervie and Three Harbours, Caithness) and increasingly with the wider NHS Highland salaried practice network. The practice is dispensing and staff include Receptionist/Dispensers, a Practice Manager, Practice Nurse and a number of visiting clinicians and support services.
The practice offers in hours services only, with Out of Hours being provided by NHS Highland Out of Hours Team. Due to the rurality, there is a requirement to undertake the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care / BASICS course but staff can be supported to undertake this once in practice if it has not previously been completed.
There is a North Coast redesign project underway with plans to improve ways of working and streamlining processes over the next few years. There is also a proposal for a new build in Tongue, housing GP services and other services too. Close working between both practices will ensure the most flexible, attractive model going forwards.
This remote and rural practice is located in North Sutherland, offering stunning highland scenery, the most beautiful sandy beaches, along with diverse wildlife. With primary schools located in Tongue and Melvich, and Farr High School located in Bettyhill, it also lends itself to family life.
The successful candidate will have a remarkable opportunity to be part of this innovative and exciting new model of rural healthcare as it moves forward.
Applicants must hold a CCT as well as a license to practice from the GMC and a right to work in the UK. MRCGP qualification (or equivalent) is required unless just coming to the end of UK based GP training and waiting for MRCGP exam results this year. Also, if applying from outwith the UK, applicants must hold a valid UK Health and Care Worker Visa.
